1. Bodhidharma (Chinese: 菩提達摩 pútídámó; Japanese: 達磨 Daruma)
2. Huike (Chinese: 慧可 huìkě)
3. Sengcan ( ? -606) (Chinese: 僧璨; Japanese: Sosan)
4. Dao Xin (580-651) (Chinese: 道信 daoxin)
5. Hongren (601-674) (Chinese: 弘忍 hongreng)
6. Hui Neng (638–713) (Chinese: 慧能 huìnéng)
