The Hong Kong Vipassana Meditation Centre (HKVMC) was built on a piece of quiet farmland (with a total area of approximately 7000 square feet) surrounded by fruit trees, wild flowers and vegetation, located in a quiet village named Hang Tau in Sheung Shui, New Territories.

The site consists of a meditation hall, separate living quarters for men and women (complete with toilet and bathing facilities), as well as an office and living quarters for volunteers. The meditation hall and all living quarters are fitted with air conditioners and can accommodate about 50 students. Dining areas for male and female students are in open sections with canopy covers.

It is accessible by car or the Kowloon Canton Railway (KCR) from Hong Kong and Kowloon.
